Introduction to Securities and Financial Instruments

Programme Overview

The purpose of this training programme is to provide participants with a detailed understanding of the various types of securities and financial instruments included in a fund portfolio.  Participants will review security types including equities, bonds, derivatives and money market instruments, as well as cash products.  This training programme covers how securities are priced and valued.  Participants will be introduced to the associated actions of securities such as interest, dividends & corporate actions, how these are calculated and accrued and their impact on the NAV.  Participants will work through practical examples and exercises to ensure effective learning.

 Differentiate security types;
 Outline how securities are priced and pricing sources;
 Demonstrate an understanding of Income collection;
 Differentiate Corporate actions types;
